I got to know Brian through my inquisitive nature. And my love of walking...

You see, I walk every day by the same route towards the face of Holyhead Mountain. I walk from my home in Newry St.  It's a 5 mile round trip, I suppose, required medically in my case, due to diabetes.

I got to walking past the same little white car almost daily. It (the white car) was always parked on the long strip (identical spot) near the entry point to the breakwater. I was observing the same occupant daily. Then, one day I walked and   ---   something extra   ---   I saluted.  This new routine kept repeating itself for a month (maybe longer). You see, the occupant was Brian and I was curious.

Eventually, we got to talk and I addressed him as "the man in the white car". What a surprise to discover that we both shared Irishness.

We became friends and chatted every day (near enough) and increased our individual knowledge of each other.

Brian was a fine man.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam!
